 This book is a number of things. Its explicit aim is to provide guidance to “anyone who has to deal with the media during a crisis” and with that the expectation would be that it would serve as some sort of field guide. It also perhaps serves, more implicitly, and fascinatingly, as a social commentary on the way in which the many guises of media are employed and deployed in a number of international emergencies.
