Readers of this journal are unlikely to be new to the concept of resilience, but not all may have noticed quite how rapidly the concept has spread in recent years, and how widely the term is now being used. For those of us in the (very broadly defined) resilience profession this is a good thing, on the face of it at least: political leaders, business principals and media commentators appear to be persuaded by the value of resilience, and the need to have more of it.
